A huge Thank You to Raul Ascunce for quickly stepping in as our entertainment for the UW Brunch (but quite actually, I did not give him any other choice....)
Raul shared his daily conversations he has with Charles Ralph, his almost 2-year-old Austrailian Shepherd mix.
If you would like to continue to follow Raul and his conversations with Charles Ralph, you may FaceBook Friend request him or read his bi-weekly column in the Sentinel Tribune

Rachel Leatherman is a senior who lives in Continental.  Her major is Inclusive Early Childhood education.

She wrote that she "would like to become an early childhood teacher, preferably in the Preschool or Kindergarten settings. The reason that I chose the career path is because of my experience as the lead Preschool teacher at a Child Development Center in East Texas. Almost all of my students were faced with hunger and abuse in their home lives. As an unskilled leader in their lives, I felt that I was not making as big of an impact as if I had more training. Throughout the course of my education, I feel that I am becoming the educator that I would have liked to have as a child, and the person that my past students needed. I feel as though I would be a great professional educator because of my creativity, and hands-on initiative. I have a very high energetic personality that is able to meet the needs of the students. This year’s field placement has given me the opportunity to interact and support children with a wide range of abilities in their lessons and activities."

Rachel is president of Kappa Delta Pi, a National Honor Society for Educators. She is employed as a grocery clerk at Kroger.

The 2018 University Women Fall Brunch was held Saturday, Aug. 25 at the Simpson Building at Simpson Garden Park.  All who attended enjoyed delicious food, shared information about the upcoming year of interest group activities, were well informed of what's happening at BGSU by President Rodney Rogers, and were well entertained by the wit and humor of Mr. Tom Walton.
Our fine scholarship recipients, Bonnie Bailey and Courtney Hunt gave very gracious thanks as they spoke about their aspirations as non-traditional female students at BGSU.  And our wonderful raffle and silent auction was a rousing success!
Thank you to all who made this annual event such a success!

Photos of the January 2017 meeting of The Travelers at the home of Barbara and Roger Sanchez.  A beautiful setting of china, crystal, and lovely Philippine embroidered table dressings graced the presentation of the many travels of the Sanchez family to the Philippines.
Photos of the first yearly meeting of the Travelers' Club -- Sunday, Sept. 25,2016 at the home of Raul & Jo Ascunce.   Wonderful offerings of delicious appetizers, desserts, and wine on a beautiful fall evening created a wonderful atmosphere for learning about the traveling experiences offered by the International Road Scholar program:
