- The annual brunch will be August 26 in the atrium of the Veterans’ Building at City Park.
o The building has been reserved from 9 – 1, so we will have time to set up the raffle & auction. We will start to set up at 9:00 with the meeting starting at 10:30 or 11:00.
o Susan will send out an e-mail requesting raffle & auction items. Items will need to be delivered to her between Thursday August 3 and Thursday August 24. Susan will handle the auction, and Karen will handle the raffle.
o Ann will place the sign outside the building that morning.
o Becky has invited the BGSU president and BG Mayor and their spouses. Karen will provide details to President’s office. We will need to determine their lunch options, if they plan to stay.
o Karen reported on luncheon options from Call of the Canyon. We decided on wraps for a charge of $12 per person. Wrap options are a Club Wrap (turkey, bacon, lettuce, tomato, cheese, and ranch dressing on a spinach wrap) and a Veggie Wrap (lettuce, tomato, green pepper, red onion, cucumber, and pickles topped with ranch dressing and cream cheese on a spinach wrap). Boxed lunches also include chips and salsa, chocolate chip cookie, and seasonal fruit. Call of the Canyon will deliver about 9:45. Final lunch count must be provided a week in advance.
o Ann will arrange for coffee and cups and get them to the brunch.
o Susan will provide bottled water and get it to the brunch.
o Table decorations will be vases with flowers from members’ gardens. We’ll get together on Friday August 25 at the Sanchez’s to arrange them. Each table will have a speaker hat. One attendee per table will win the hat, and one will win the centerpiece.
o Becky will check with Jane Schimpf to be sure place mats are brought to the brunch. Each place will have a speaker card.
