UW Objectives
Formally, the main objective of the University Women is to encourage a friendly and cooperative spirit within its diversified membership and to foster a continuing interest in Bowling Green State University and its surrounding communities. Additionally, we strive to encourage and assist part time or full time undergraduate women through our scholarship funding.
Informally, we provide social fellowship and fun for our members, primarily through various smaller interest groups. New members are welcome at any time. The entire group meets as well for planned social events throughout the year, at which time spouses and friends who may want to join are encouraged to attend.
Our special interest groups include gardening, antiques, art museum, bridge, community service, knitting/crocheting, literature, lunch bunch, travelers, music, movies, and more. Members are responsible for annual dues (presently $20 per year). They are also responsible for paying any interest group dues for the groups they wish to join.

A Happy New Year! Even though the Kawashima Peace Garden was open since 2013, it always needs some more funds to replace and add new shrubs, trees after severe winter. The Peace garden would appreciate continuous support from BG community. New features that were added this year are new lantern on south western corner and wonderful" Kawashima Peace Garden "sign that was donated by the Kawashima family in Japan; calligraphy in chinese characters, transferred onto wood piece, carved and painted, now hung at the Machiai place.
Donations can be made to Park and Recreations :Kawashima Peace Garden

Becky White Schooner
Becky White/Schooner Farms - A visit to our farm is anything but boring. Walk our 75foot lavender labyrinth, pick berries off our organically tended hugelkultur beds, enjoy a wide variety of classes or demonstrations, catch and release fishing opportunities, raw honey from our apiary, learn about land ethics, watch our experiments into fresh water lobster and shrimp for tableware, natural pond and lake restoration, shop our little sundry store, take an amazing yoga class, discover our plans for creating a food forest and more. See, not boring and not your typical “farm”. www.schoonerberries.com like us on Facebook too! Schooner Farms 14890 Otsego Pike Weston, Ohio 419-261-0908
